The Jesus Filter

Matthew 7:26-27 "Anyone who hears My words but does not put them into practice is like the foolish man who built his house on sandy ground. The rains fell, the torrents came, the winds blew and lashed against the house. It collapsed under all this and was completely ruined."

Mother Teresa, known for her works of charity with the poorest of the poor, was invited by President Bill Clinton to speak at the 1994 National Prayer Breakfast. I'm sure Clinton was unprepared for what she said.

"And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts. Jesus gave even His life to love us. Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want." Mother Teresa

Obviously, Mother Teresa's words were meaningless to Clinton. He vetoed a law passed by Congress to ban partial birth abortion not once but twice...in 1995 and 1997. Fortunately President Bush who was Pro-Life then and now, signed the law in 2003.

We are now heading down that same old satanic led path with President Obama's pledge to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). FOCA is a proposed federal law that would nullify virtually every state and federal law and policy that in any way limits access to abortion, including parental notification laws and the ban on partial-birth abortion. May God give us the courage, wisdom and strength to repel this attack on America. "Your opponent the devil is prowling like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8)

I propose we use the Jesus filter...always. Is it ok with Jesus? Whatever I do, whatever I say, is it ok with Jesus? And for those times I forget to check with Jesus first, I will at days end commit to always reflect on my words and actions through an examination of my conscience.

Wow! What if politicians voted as if Jesus was by their side advising them on their vote. Jesus, should I vote to allow abortion on demand, without any limits?
