2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is inspired by God, and is useful for teaching - for reproof, correction, and training in holiness so that the man of God may be fully competent and equipped for every good work."
Every time I open the Bible I can hear God, in my spirit, saying, "Hello Bobby, how are you partner? How can I help you today?"
"Scripture is God's unique self-revelation. When one opens the Book, one opens one's heart and it is God who speaks. God dialogues with whoever reads the Bible, which requires serious study and powerful reflection. Scripture describes how Jesus fits into God's plan for the world and how we need to live."
Studying Scripture helps us to understand "agape" love...Christ's love for us and how we are to love Him and our neighbors. "If I have faith great enough to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." (1 Corinthians 13:2)
The Word of God is "sweeter than honey that drips from the comb." (Psalm 19:10). "Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (Psalm 119:105), but it is also "something alive and active: it cuts more incisively than any two-edged sword: it can seek out the place where soul is divided from spirit, or joints from marrow; it judges the reflections and thoughts of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12).
"We must translate the Word we have heard into gestures of love in order to reflect the Gospel proclamation."
Have you read your Bible today?
Blessings
